    On date of 17th April 2013 a seminar on "How to Measure Life and Self Development" was conducted by Department of Management, SRIMCA at Shrimad Hall. The Seminar was given by Dr.Himanshu Bhatt, Fr. Senior Vice President of Reliance Industries India and Chairman of National Human Resource Development Network.

    The session was started by a quote "Never Never Wait for an invitation to learn and contribute." He mentioned that learning is ongoing process. He explained the value and essence of self. Dr. Bhatt well said that Self renewal should be in professional personal and Spiritual area.

    Dr. Bhatt explained the importance of communication, persuasion, development of habit and interest in every phase of life. He well mentioned the difference between activity and habit. The story of appreciation and help to other by telling the story of Starfish and common men. Dr. Bhatt is very good speaker, motivator, good communicator, quality voice impressive and effective person. It was indeed corporate learning experience for the participants.

  • SRIMCA ranks 10th in the list of best MCA colleges (West Region) All Over India more

    Silicon India conducted a survey for MCA collegesto understand the quality of students graduating from these colleges, on the basis of their performance & packages in the industry. It is a feeling of immense pride that SRIMCA stood at the 10th position in the list of top MCA colleges in Western zone. The survey emphasized on the quality of education being imparted by the colleges whether is being beneficial in meeting the demands of the industry or not; as this is the biggest challenge that industry is facing these days - Getting right person for right job.

    The survey was conducted that included 3000 candidates who graduated in 2007, who did not pursue any other course after MCA.The major parameter being surveyed was CTC of a college graduate after five years of work experience. A thorough study was conducted by HR managers, recruitment firms and job boards who interviewed these graduates across cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai. On the basis of exhaustive research and analysis the top list was prepared.

    Intense efforts are being put by everyone associated with SRIMCA in every student graduating from here, and these students are progressing with flying colours in the Industry. They have made us proud once again.

  • Department of Management organized tour to Diu and Gir, Date: 13-14th April 2013 more

    Department of Management organized Two day's tour to Diu and SasanGir, Gujarat. Total 102 students +7 faculty members joined this tour. On the first day, they visited Nagoa Beachand Diu Fort. The Diu Fort is located on the west coast of India. The fort was built by the Portuguese during their colonial rule of the Diu island.In the evening, students enjoyed shopping at Diu. Next day, they visited the famous Somnath temple, SasanGir and Devaliya Safari Park.The Somnath templeis located in the PrabhasKshetra near Veraval in Saurashtra, on the western coast of Gujarat, India. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines of the God Shiva. The Gir Forest National Park and Wildlife is a forest and wildlife sanctuary in Gujarat, India.Devaliya lion safari park, 12 km away from Sasan-Gir, is all set to go for 100 per cent pollution-free area. The forest department has decided to use biodieselmade from jatropha to run all tourists vehicles used to take tourists for lions' sighting in the park. Students enjoyed and learned from this interactive tour.

  • SRIMCA students selected for final round of National Level Creativity Aptitude Test, at IIT, Delhi. more

    NCAT(National Creativity Aptitude Test) 2013 is organized by International forum for Excellence in higher education and first round of exam was conducted at SRIMCA on 9th February this year. The NCAT is designed to sensitize the students to the domain of creative thinking and motivate them to read, learn and practice the same. The objective of NCAT is to assess the creativity quotient of a student and his/her level of motivation. Total 68 students from MCA(First and Second year students) took part in it, out of whichfour students of SRIMCA are selected for final round.   • A Seminar on "Summer Internship at EGYPT", Date: 28th March 2013 more

    As a part of Training & Placement activity, A Seminar on "Summer Internship at Egypt" by students TEAM of AIESEC. They designed a group internship project at Egypt for MBA students and explained various benefits that can be availed from this international project which includes getting international certification, getting foreign environment project work exposure, working in cross cultural group of students, visiting Egypt, working with NGO etc. Here it should be noted that last year our 2 MBA students visited Sri Lanka for their Summer Internship Project for the duration of 1.5 months.

  • Department of Management - SRIMCA Faculty members Rocked in UGC NET Examination for Lecturership, Date: 28th March 2013 more

    The University Grants Commission has declared the result of NET held on 30th December, 2012. About 7.8 lakhs candidates (7,78,130) registered for this examination out of which 6,15,136 appeared. A total of 39,226 (Total result 6.38%) candidates have qualified for the eligibility of Lectureship. Total 475 candidates appeared for UGC NET examination in Management subject at Baroda center. Out of these 475 candidates, 66 candidates successfully cleared UGC NET for lecturership. Total result of Baroda center in Management category is 13.89 %. Out of these 66 candidates, 7 faculty members of Department of Management, Uka Tarsadia University cracked this exam;

  • Achievements of SRIMCA Faculty in NET Examination more

    NET is the National level Eligibility examination conducted by UGC for Lectureship. The University Grants Commission has declared supplementary result of NET Examination held on 30th December, 2012. Total 7,78,130 candidates have registered for this examination out of which 6,15,136 appeared for the examination. Out of which 35557 students cleared all over the country. Only 12 candidates from Vadodara center have qualified NET in the subject of Computer Science and Applications, and one of them is Mr. Jitendra Nasriwala Associate Professor, faculty member from SRIMCA.

  • SRIMCA students achieved second rank in National level Mobile Application Development Competition, Date: 23rd March 2013 more

    NES, PUNE has organized a National level Mobile Application Development competition. In which thousands of Computer Science students participated from all over India. From Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of Management & Computer Application, 6 teams from TYMCA class have participated. It's a moment of immense proud & pleasure that one team stood 2nd in the competition. We Shrimad parivar congratulate them for the achievement. Students have developed a mobile application which provides information for various aspects of child care.

    Further winning team received Rs. 30,000 as cash prize & certificates. Once again we Shrimad parivar congratulates the winning team.

  • An Expert Talk organized by SRIMCA, Date: 23rd March 2013 more

    SRIMCA organized a session by Dr. Naren Burade, C.E.O. of VareeInfotech, Surat on 23rd March, 2013. Dr. Naren is an expert in the field of Information Technology & he addressed the SYMCA students. The objective of the session was to make students aware of the industrial scenario for software development. He shared with the students about the accuracy expected from the developers in industry by giving examples related to networking and string manipulation. He advised to think from client's perspective while developing software. He said that he has no doubt about knowledge of the students of this institute, but one must present himself/herself with confidence. He also discussed about importance of communication skills, behavior & attitude. The session was fruitful as the students understood the importance of developing soft skills along with technical knowledge.

  • SRIMCA students bagged Prizes in National level Technical symposium - Inspire - 13, Date: 18-19th March 2013 more

    C.K. Pithawalla College of Engineering and Technology, Surat had organized national level technical symposium - "Inspire - 13" on 18th & 19th March 2013. In this event, there were different competitions like Web Development (Website Udhvikas), C Programming, C & C++ Quiz competition (Ekadhika Prasanottari), Project Presentation (Pariyojana Prastuti) etc. for UG and PG students of IT. In C & C++ quiz competition, total 237 students participated and in project presentation total 7 teams across the country participated. From Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of Management & Computer Application, students of SYMCA class participated. It's a moment of immense pride & pleasure that one of our students has secured 3rd rank in C/C++ quiz competition (Ekadhika Prasanottari) and a team of 4 students' secured 2nd rank in Project Presentation (Pariyojana Prastuti).   • SYMBA Students visited Mundra Group of Industriesduring, Date: 16-17th March 2013 more

    With the main objective to give exposureof Industrial environment to students, Department of Management have scheduled 2 day industrial visit during 16-17 March 2013.76 students and 3 faculties have visited the place. On Day 1, students have visited AdaniWilmar Ltd (Edible Oil Refinery) and Adani Port, Mundra. On Day 2, Students have visited Adani Power Plant, Mundra. Students also got opportunity to watch Boat Race Competition and plantation of trees at West Coast, Mundra.The visit was enriched with informational sessions by Shri.PuransinhJhala,AssociateManagerAdministration,Adani Ports andSEZ Ltd, Mundra, Shri.ChandrakantPandya Sir, Shanti Vihar, Mundra and Shri. Dharmendra Parmar Sir, Accounts Section, Adani Ports and SEZ Ltd, Mundra.Jhalasirfocused his discussion on Adani Group initiatives so far and future plans of Adani Group.PandyaSir discussed about Living Life Comfortably with yoga, laughing and improving few habits for happy life.DharmendraSirgave informational talk about AdaniBusinesses and motivated students to build bright career.   • An Expert talk on "Wireless Sensor Networks and Security Issues" and "Image Processing Fundamental" organized by SRIMCA, Date: 15th March 2013 more

    SRIMCA organized two technical sessions on 15th March, 2013. Two eminent personalities in the field of computer science Dr. Devesh Jinwala and Dr. Mukesh Zaveri, from Sardar Vallabhbhai, National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat have delivered expert talk. Around 200 audience including students & faculty members attended these sessions.

    First session was conducted by Dr. Devesh C. Jinwala. He spoke on Introduction to wireless sensor network & its applications, the basic structure and the security issues that arise in it. He has focused on the live research themes related to wireless sensor network in which students can do their dissertation.

    Dr. Mukesh Zaveri conducted the second session. He emphasized the topics like image definition, need of image processing and various applications of Image processing. He covered fundamentals of image processing steps, operations on image, image processing in spatial domain, frequency domain and various methods used in image processing with its applications. He solved various queries of student regarding histogram processing, segmentation and object recognition.

  • "Women's Day" organized by SRIMCA, Date: 08th March 2013 more

    Women are the real architect of the society; they are a strong catalyst in changing the world and the society at large. To pay gratitude to all the females, Collegiate Women's Development Committee organized the celebration of Women's Day at SRIMCA under the presence of faculties and female students of the institute.

    The basic objective of the celebration was to make the female students recognize their potentialities. Motivational video on women empowerment and Slogan competition was organized. 6 girls participated from SRIMCA and Ms. Kinjal Desai from FYMCA won the best slogan prize.

    Faculties and students conveyed the compliment of the day. Sweet distribution adorned the occasion as a small token of affection. Students took an oath that they would develop self confidence amongst them and try to be extrovert.

  • "Celebrate Women's Day" organized by Department of Management, Date: 08th March 2013 more

    Women's Day is celebrated throughout the world on 8th March every yearsince 1909. Celebrating Women's Day is an opportunity to appreciate the remarkable contribution of women to our society. In different regions, the focus of the celebrations ranges from general celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women to a celebration for women's economic, political and social achievements.

    'Woman'- is a word that invokes a lot of images in our minds and brings out varied emotions as selfless love, nurturing and caring attitude. A woman is much more than these words. In the first half of celebration of Women's Day at Department of Management, the students came up with skits, mono-act, drama and speeches on importance of women, saving girl child, fighting against injustice etc. The celebration began with a excellent drama by students of Marketing of SY MBA passing strongmessage on importance of women in life to all family members and she need not be taken for granted. Next was mime act and Skit by FY MBA students on going ahead and fight for rights as women. Students also came up with mono-act, speeches on role of mother in their personal life and also the need of the hour to protect Women, saving girl child looking to continuous imbalance in the gender ratios. The programme ended with a speech by Dr. Prashant Joshi, Professor and Head of Department of Management. He emphasize on various issues women face in day to day life andalso about continuous improvement in the situation of women in society compared to the past. To add flavour to the celebrations, a cake was cut by the female faculty members and distributed amongst all.

    In the second half of celebrations, there was Poster Competition on "Women Empowerment". Students overwhelmingly participated in poster making and there were in all 29 posters made by the students. There was also a face painting done by students reflecting on the theme "Saving Girl".

  • "Poster Competition" and "Model Presentation" organized by SRIMCA, Date: 07th March 2013 more

    SRIMCA organized "Poster Competition and Model Presentation" on 7th March 2013. The participants made poster and / or model on IT them apart from concepts in their syllabus. Competition was separate for UG and PG level for Poster competition and common for all for Model Presentation. Overall 450+ students participated in this event. Total 46 poster submitted by UG students, 37 posters submitted by PG students and 13 models submitted in total.

    All the posters had innovative ideas in IT as well as knowledgeable concepts like "Journey of Education", "Google Glass", "IT for Blind People", "Cloud Computing", "DNS free System", etc. Also presented models have theme on "IT Security", "Networking", "IT in Traffic Managements", "Smart Car Parking", "Smart HOME", "Accident Alert System" etc.

    During the valedictory function Dr. Dinesh Shah, Provost, U T University said that this is very excellent event and he appreciates all participants for their overwhelming response. Also he congratulated all the participants.

  • SRIMCA alumni visited the campus for sharing his experience, Date: 2nd March 2013 more

    The alumni association of SRIMCA organized a session of Mr. Harsh Pandit, Clear Cell, Vadodara on 2nd March 2013. He is an alumnus of 1st batch of MCA course, SRIMCA. He worked at various positions in industry like team leader, team manager, and technical architect. He highlighted the topic "How to sustainin ever changing IT industry". He emphasized that students should focus on core concepts to remain updated with current trends in IT industry. He shared his experiences with students of MCA 4th semester and M.Sc.(Computer Application) 2nd semester.The queries of the students related to technology were wisely solved by Mr. Pandit. He also shared what industry demands from the freshers. Vote of thanks was given by Mr. Jitendra Nasriwala.

    Research Team of Jainam Securities of Pvt. Ltd, Surat, came to Department of management, SRIMCA for seminar of Fundamental and Technical Analysis. Mr. Tejash Zariwala, fundamental Research analyst, Jainam Securities pvt.ltd., delivered talk on usage of value investing , and how as an investor should focus on value stock than growth stocks. He has given useful insights on some of the key fundamental tools that he is applying in his research work. The future budding manager can apply this tool to identify value stocks in the market.

    Mr. Sahil Modi, Technical Analyst, Jainam Securities pvt. Ltd, has delivered talk on usefulness of technical analysis. He covered various aspect of technical analysis like head & shoulder, gap analysis, Dow Theory, RSI, MACD, ROC, chart pattern, super pivot, Fibonacci etc. The students shown key interest and participated with full involvement. This session was ended with Q&A sessions.

    Department of Management organizes a session on "Practical guide for investment using technical analysis". Mr. Rohan Mehta, one of the renowned personalities from stock market often give talks on various news channel like CNBC, NDTV profits etc, addresses all SYMBA finance students about the different tools that his firm uses to guide their clients. The session starts with the topic which helps students to identify between rich trader and poor trader. He studied more than 150 renowned persons in stock market and draws some good points to be followed out of their way of working which can even make us wealthy. The session proceeds with informing students regarding different tools they used in stock market. The session ends with Q&A session.

    D. J. Patel Institute of Computer Education & Information Technology, Anand has organized State level event - "COGSOC - 2013" on 1st March 2013. In this event there were different four competitions like Project Competition, Brain Hunt, etc for UG and PG students of IT. In Project Competition (for PG) total 18 teams across the state has been participated.   • Thalassemia Detection Program organized by Department of Management, Date: 28th February 2013 more

    SRIMCA - Department of Management and Maniba Bhula Nursing College (MBNC) has jointly organized Thalassemia Detection Program on 28th Feb., 2013 in collaboration with Indian Red Cross society, Gujarat State Branch. The representative of Ahmedabad Branch came to our campus for counseling and sample collection of total 73 students (40 - MBNC, 33 - MBA) for Thalassemia Screening and Prevention. Their major focus was on awareness and knowledge regarding this decease. The only suggestion they gave that Thalassemia MINOR (Male) and Thalassemia MINOR (Female) cannot marry with each other. If a married couple has Thalassemia MINOR then the chances of Thalassemia MAJOR will be very high for their children. And Thalassemia MAJOR is very serious decease that will lead to death. So the message is to get aware and check out for Thalassemia before having married life.

    Mr. Ambrish Shah (Territory Manager) & Hemli Mehta (Sales Training Manager) from Reliance Capital visited our campus on 22nd Feb 2013. Main purpose of their visit was to groom the students according to the Industry Standards. In this students were oriented Financial Investment options, Financial Planning, Career building in financial sector and Earning opportunities in financial sector. Reliance Capital is planning to have 3 day training in near future on Personality Development, Product & Process and Sales training & financial sector examination. They motivated students to be a part of Reliance Capital. Importance of Insurance and the needs of this growing sector were explained to the students.

    Mr. Mulchandji Sen delivered a session on "How to face interview?" About 126 students participated in this session. In his session he focused on Do's and Don'ts of Interview, Pre-planning of interview, Interview preparation, How to analyze offer given by company, how to boost up confidence etc. Mulchandji Sen also shared his experience with corporate personalities and alumni members. This session will certainly help students to get prepared and crack interview.

  • Baroda Pioneer Mutual Fund Scheduled Campus Interview for MBA Students, Date: 21st February 2013 more

    Mr. Mihir Desai - Area Manager, Baroda Pioneer Asset Management Company Limited and his colleague visited Department of Management, SRIMCA for Campus Interview. In the first phase, a Pre-placement talk was scheduled during which Mr. Mihir Desai briefly oriented students about Mutual Fund Industry, career opportunities in Mutual Fund and various locations for which they require candidates. At the end of session students asked questions related to their career at Baroda Mutual Fund. In the second phase, 22 students from Marketing and Finance appeared in the interview of Baroda Pioneer Mutual Fund.

    Round 1:

    Students need to create a video on a latest technology of Microsoft like Internet Explorer 10, Windows Azure and Windows 8 etc. Video length should be minimum 2 minutes and maximum 3 minutes. It should present theparticipant as well as their college details and the topic. Points will be given based on quality of video as well as number of views of video. SRIMCA students have created innovative videos and performed well in first round.

    Round 2 :

    In second round participants need to create Windows 8 app and submit it to the Windows Store for publishing.The students have shown their potential and creativity in this round.

    Today Group Discussion has become very important criteria of selection & problem solving technique for any corporate. GD is that tool using which corporate select right candidate(s) from the pool of eligible candidates. Keeping its importance in view a workshop was organized on 15.02.2013 by Mrs. Ekta Sinha for Second year M.B.A. Students. Students were made aware of importance of GD in the present scenario. Students were told about major evaluative criteria practiced by the Organizations during GD. Discussion was also made on the Do's & Don'ts of GD. Any workshop is incomplete without a practical approach, so students were divided in groups to go ahead for a mock GD session. Different groups were also allowed give their opinion on the performing group. Students learnt a lot from this session.

  • Achievement of SRIMCA (Department of Management) in All India Essay Writing Event 2012 organized by SRCM more

    Shri Ram Chandra Mission (SRCM) & United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan organized "All India Essay Writing Event" in December 2012. The topic of Essay was "What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us - Ralph Waldo Emerson". In this event, 34 students participate from FY and SY MBA. The following students are declared as winners from SRIMCA (Management Department).

    1st is Ripal V Patel (SYMBA) and 2nd is Asif I Samnani (SYMBA) in English language and in Hindi language 1st is Fazila Ravat (SYMBA).     This Faculty development program aims to give financial market knowledge which helps an individual to select stock market as one of the investment tool. The topics covered were Overview of Capital Market, Exchange mechanism, trading and clearing mechanism, future and option segment, and Rajiv Gandhi equity saving schemes. This kind of workshop is the need of ours as many company already started visiting campus for placement Interview. In order to make students empowered with Interview etiquettes, workshop has been organized.

    Mr. Paresh Bhatt resource person of the workshop started first session with the concept of Goal, Interview process, Preliminary preparation that an interviewer should make before appearing in Interview.. The students appreciated the content and delivery of the session.

    The University Grants Commission has declared the result of NET held on 24th June, 2012. More than 7 lakh candidates (7,07,009) registered for this examination out of which 5,71,627 appeared. A total of 43,957 candidates have qualified for the eligibility of Lectureship.   • An awareness workshop on "National Program on Technological Enhanced Learning", Date: 21st January 2013 more

    Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of Management & Computer Application has organized one day workshop on "Awareness about NPTEL" on 21st January 2013 at 10:00 am in Late Dr. Jatin Desai hall, for the student of SYMCA, SY Msc IT, SYBCA, FY Msc CA, SYMBA & all the faculties of the Gopal Vidyanagar campus.

    The basic objective of the workshop was to aware the students & faculties of the campus about the "National Programme for Technological Enhanced Learning" an initiative of MHRD department, Government of India, supported by seven original IIT's. Basically under this mission of NPTEL online material & video tutorials are available on the website for the various courses like Engineering, Science, and Management & Humanities.

    Mr. Rajtilak was the facilitator of the workshop. He has 12 years of experience in IT enabled services. He has proficiency in managing networks based on Windows & Linux based environments.

    Mr. Rajtilak initiated the session discussing aims & objectives of the NPTEL. He also made the students aware regarding the importance of material & video available on the website and how it can help them for studies. He delivered the talk in very interesting manner while interacting with the audience.

    Approximately 450 students participated in the workshop. Approximately 50+ Faculties were present from various institutions of the campus.

    The research paper entitled "Stemming techniques and naive approach for Gujarati stemmer" authored by Ms. Jikitsha Sheth, Asst. Prof., SRIMCA and Dr. Bankim Patel, Director, SRIMCA was selected as the best research paper award for track "Algorithm" in the International Conference of Recent Trends in Information Technology and Computer Science 2012(ICRTITCS-2012) organized during 17-18 Dec 2012 at Thakur College of Science and Commerce, Mumbai in association with CSI and IJCA.   • Achievements of SRIMCA Faculty in NET Examination more

    NET is the National level Eligibility examination conducted by UGC for Lectureship. The University Grants Commission has declared supplementary result of NET Examination held on 24th June, 2012.   • "Two-day zonal workshop on Android Application Development", Date: 6th to 7th November 2012 more

    AppsFest is an Android application development championship organized jointly with Shaastra-2013 of IIT-Madras & AppsBuzz Pct Ltd. This Year Prelim Rounds of AppsFest held at selective Zonal Centers all across India. "Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of Management and Computer Application" is proud to be selected as one of the zonal center.

    Two-day zonal workshop "AppsFest-2013" was held on 6th-7th November 2012 at SRIMCA, Uka Tarsadia University, Bardoli, Surat. More than 80 students from various colleges of Gujarat participated in the workshop. Mr. Yogendra Kishor Verma and Mr. Shiv Sharma research scientist from AppsBuzz Pvt Ltd conducted the workshop on Android Application Development. For the 1st day Mr. Verma has given the introductory information on android and its market value, he has explained various technologies that are being used for application development. On 2nd day he has conducted the session for how to create activity for the application and how to launch it into the mobile phone.

    Preliminary Round was held in the evening session for selecting merit students. Normally AppsBuzz is selecting one student from preliminary round for participating at AppsFest-2013. Looking at the extraordinary performance of participants, 3 students are selected for the National Grand Finale on 5th-8th January 2013 at IIT-Madras. Workshop was successfully coordinated by SRIMCA faculty members Mr. Dharmendra Bhatti, Mr. Jitendra Upadhyay, Mr. Hardik Vyas, and Mr. Puja Sharma.     On 20th Oct, 2012 an expert person Mr. Pranav Mehta delivered an expert talk on "Mind Power and Meditation".

    He started this session by asking a simple question about life to students. Then he explained in more detail about what is life as well as people wants which type of life. He gave guidanceto achieve a successful life. For that explained how to achieve good life by explaining what is success, result, action, thought and belief.

    After that he explained more detail on beliefas well as different types of beliefs in human mind. To prove this he gave many exercises to students. He ends this session by showing inspiration videos to students.

    An Industrial visit was taken up to Devashish Securities Pvt. Ltd, by Department of management, SRIMCA for finance students on 1st November, 2012. The visit was organized with a view to providing industrial exposure to the students and keeping them abreast with latest trends in Industry. The visit proved to be really helpful to gain knowledge in the field of finance. Students have learnt different operations like dealing, arbitraging, technical analysis, commodity trading, online mutual funds and risk management in stock market. The visit was coordinated by Mr. Krunal Patel and accompanied by our director sir, Dr. Shivendra Gupta, Dr. Prashant Joshi and all finance students.

  • "Fresher's Party" organized by Department of Management, Date: 21st October 2012 more

    The season of fresher's parties is on in full swing. This time we spotted young guns of a city MBA college dancing away to glory at their fresher's party.

    On Sunday, October 21st at SRIMCA, Gopal Vidhyanagar campus, Bardoli, India hosted its annual Fresher's Party for students attending SRIMCA for the first time this fall. The group was joined by several recent graduates. Those traveling to SRIMCA for the first time they received practical advice but mostly it was a social event, a chance to meet fellow incoming students. It was a lively day and those attending enjoyed meeting one another. SRIMCA looks forward to hosting a Fresher Party for years to come.

    A cultural function was organized at Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of Management & Computer Application by SYMBA to welcome the FYMBA batch of MBA students to the College.

    The whole function was organized by the students of the SYMBA 2012 batch students under the guidance of Mr. Krunal Patel, Mr. Manish Pathak, Ms. Tarjani Desai, Ms. Trishna Makwana & Mrs. Apurva Jain With pulsating ambience, flashing lights and foot tapping music, began the fresher's party with a difference. The function brought the young blood to cheers with various dancing, singing, comedy and literary performances along with the Mr. and Miss Fresher.

    Speaking on the occasion, Dr Shivendra Gupta, Director of the SRIMCA MBA department, Dr. Prashant Joshi said that it is a fact worth appreciating that the students perform so well on the stage besides performing in the classrooms and industry. We hoped that the newly admitted students will play a lead role in making India a knowledge economy.

    The skit presented by 2011-13 batches left almost all the audience turning over their chairs with laugh, while the solo songs presented by different individual students enthralled the audience. Dancing items including garba, Solo dance, break Dance, western dance, fusion, silent & funny group dance were also performed during the function. The competitive contest for the Ramp show to make a choice of titles of Miss Fresher and Mr. Fresher. The contest included three rounds, namely Introductory round, Talent or ramp show, and Question-answer round. Mr. Akshay Patel and Ms.Zenia Patel got the titles of Mr. Fresher and Ms. Fresher respectively.

    Dr. N. L. Kalthiahas delivered expert talk on "Mathematics of Computer Language" on 11th October, 2012.He got his Ph.D. degree from IIT, Kanpur. He was the head of the Department of Mathematics at VNSGU. He has published many books and guided many Ph.D. students. Currently he is active at IGNOU Study Centre, Surat.

    He started with basics of computer and languages. Then he discussed about how mathematics used for developing computer languages by giving many examples. He discussed about set of theory and graph theory. He also explained Kleen's Closure and Recursive definition of Sets.172+ students of S.Y MCA and 100+ students of Engineering have attended the session.

    A good example is set by three of our alumni members, who firmly believe in inspiring the young SRIMCANS namely Kunal Parekhfrom Infosys Technology,Pune,Pratik Naik from Euronet Services Pvt. Ltd, Mumbai and Nisarg Mehta, from IBM, Pune. The basic objective of their visit to the institutewas to morally support the students of final year MCA, to enlighten about the recent trends of the IT industry. Further they also made the students aware with regarding industrial expectations from a fresher. Students well realized the industrial scenario and were also motivated with the knowledge imparted by the successful alumni of SRIMCA.

  • A One day Seminar on "Software Testing and Quality Assurance" organized by SRIMCA, Date: 06th October 2012 more

    A One day seminar on "Software Testing and Quality Assurance" was organized on 6th October'2012, at 11.00 am in the Shrimad Hall for the students of SYMCA and TYMCA.

    The basic objective of the seminar was to enlighten the mutually supportive activities involved in the software development lifecycle: management, engineering, testing and quality assurance. The primary objective was to bring home the testing as executed in the industry. Mr. Pratik Shah was the key speaker of the seminar.

    Mr Pratik has over 8 years of experience in Software Testing and QA. He is ISTQB (International Software Testing Quality Board) certified and is currently working as a Test Location Lead in QGB, Baroda one of the UK based MNC for India branch. He has been associated with well known companies like Patni, TCS and RBS (Royal Bank of Scotland). He had also visited London and Cambridge for executing major projects at customer's end and has a blend of working experience in domain such as manufacturing, Insurance, Banking, and Retail.

    Mr. Pratik initiated the session discussing SDLC and STLC to the students and its importance. He also made the students aware regarding the importance of Software Testing in career and emphasized the role of a Tester in the real world market. He also demonstrated the sample applications and development of Test Plan, Test Cases and introduction to QTP Tool. He demonstrated the recording, editing, running of scripts and analysis of the scripts and test pass/fail results etc.

    Post lunch session started at around 1.15pm, this session was enriched by Mr. Pratik where he demonstrated the sample applications and development of Test Plan, Test Cases and introduction to QTP Tool.

    The last session was practical demonstration of QTP Tool where he showed recording, editing, running of scripts and analysis of the scripts and test pass/fail results etc.

    Approximately 250 students participated in the seminar.     GLS Institute of Computer Technology had organized State Level Technical Festival - "Cyber Contour - 2012" on 29th September & 6th October 2012 at Ahmedabad. In this entire festival organized 8 different events like Tablethon, Techno quiz, TechnoRangavali, Virtual world - Explore the WWW, Caste - de Android, OAK Master, Best Dissertation etc.

    Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of Management and Computer Application students participated in four events and won prizes in three events. In Techno Quiz, total 16 teams participated wherein SRIMCA team secured 1st Rank. In Best Dissertation, total 7 teams participated wherein SRIMCA team secured 2nd Rank. In Virtual world - Explore the WWW, total 15 teams participated wherein SRIMCA team secured 3rd Rank.

    With the aim to maximize the practical exposure for its students, Department of Management, SRIMCA organised an industrial visit for its 135+ Second year MBA students on Monday, 17th September, 2012. Students were taken on Industrial visit at two different companies i.e. Gujarat State Energy Generation Ltd. & Hydro Purification Technologies Pvt. Ltd. on Hazira belt & Gujarat Eco textile Park, Palsana. Management Faculties & students reached at respective companies by 10.30 am wherein students of HR & Marketing visited GSEG Ltd, HPT Pvt. Ltd. Students were shown the production unit and explained the process functioning of plant. Apart from this, they were also apprised about the culture and various policies (HR, Production etc.).Students had a healthy interaction with the Manager of the Company wherein they exchanged diverse views with him. The students of Finance took visit of Common Effluent Treatment Plant and Captive Power Plant at Gujarat Eco Textile Park & also Hydro Purification Technologies Pvt. Ltd. At HPT, the manager addressed the students about the manufacturing of RO plants. The training session was also scheduled at the company premises for future managers. This visit has imparted very useful insights to the existing knowledge of students. The whole day ended providing diverse learning relating to practical aspects of operations of a company to the students. The entire visit was organised under the guidance of Dr. Shivendra Gupta, Hon. Director and under supervision of Mr. Mulchandji Sen, Miss Swapna Nair, Mr. Sharad Patel along with active support of all other faculty members of Department of Management, UTU.

    Women's Development and Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell of the institute organized an awareness program for the first year female students MCA on 12th September'2012.

    Ms. Jaishree Tailor with the team of Ms Bhumika Patel, Ms. Monika Naik, Ms. Nehal Adhvaryu, Ms. Yagni Desai, Ms. Himadri Patel, Ms. Preeti Bhatt, Ms. Neelam Shah, Ms. Ruchi Naik, Ms. Anuja Vaidya, Ms. Khusbhu Patel, Ms. Rutu Godhwani conveyed the existence of the cell, its objectives and importance.

    Further issues on Health care, Nutrition, Sanitary, Professional etiquettes, care while commuting; types of harassment and remedy to the same were conveyed to the female students of FYMCA. The cell focused on empowering female students from all the perspective for better living and progress personally and professionally.

    Teacher's Day is that historic event where students engage in unrestrained capacity to shower their love, adoration and respect to their teachers, the harbingers of knowledge light, in their lives.

    As we all know, Teacher's day is celebrated as the Birthday of Dr. RADHA KRISHNA. He was born on 5th September 1888. We celebrate his 124th Birthday Anniversary. He was a great educationist, so we celebrate his birthday as "TEACHER'S DAY". On this occasion teachers of M.B.A. department were felicitated by student. Director Dr. SHIVENDRA GUPTA, Professor. Dr. PRASHANT JOSHI, SENIOR FACULTY Dr. JITESH PARMAR and Our visiting faculty SHRI SHARAD PATEL expressed the gratitude shown by students towards all teachers; they explained the duties of teachers and students for the upliftment of society at large.

    Students delivered lectures to the fellow class students. They taught the topics of syllabus to the fellow class students and enjoyed the teacher's day in a real sense of accountability and responsibility. Vote of thanks was expressed by SYMBA Students

    The programme ended with the dedications for the teachers by the messages from all the students for the respective subject teachers and surprise games were planned by the students which enlightened the celebration with fun and joy.

  • "Meditation Program" organized by SRIMCA, Date: 25th August 2012 more

    The institute had organized one day meditation program on 25th August 2012.

    The session started at 09:45 am by welcoming the member from Shri Ramchandra Mission. Ms. Jaishree Tailor extended a warm welcome to all the members of Shri Ramchandra Mission, Chennai. The key speaker of the program Shri Sureshbhai Rajgopalan addressed the students. Mr. Rajendrabhai Rathod made the students aware about Shri Ramchandra Mission and Shri Sureshbhai Rajgopalan.

    Shri Sureshbhai interacted with the students of first, second and third year MCA during 01:30 am to 02:30 and 03:30 am to 04:30 am at Shrimad Hall. During the interaction, Shri Sureshbhai enlightened the students about the meditation, its advantages and shared his experience about meditation. He further emphasized on human mind and its control on actions with vivid examples of day to day life. Towards the end of the session interested students practically meditated as instructed by the Prefacts.

    Mr. Dhirendra N. Tandel delivered vote of thanks and mementos as a token of appreciation to all the members along with Ms. Jaishree Tailor, Ms. Monika Naik, Mr. Amish Patel, Ms. Khusbhu Patel, Ms. Hetvi Thakor, Mr. Sandip Patel, Mr. Manish Vala.

    More than 430 students from MCA course and 15 faculty members had attended the succeeding meditation sessions for consecutive 3 days. The faculty members and the students who attended the session experienced relief. They further shared their views with respect to peace they felt and energetic throughout the day without any strain. They conveyed a positive message to preach and practice meditation on a daily basis.

    An industrial visit to BARDOLI SUGAR FACTORY was organized by the students of S.Y.M.B.A (HR) on 28.8.2012. Mr. Pankajbhai Patel - Managing Director explained the aims and objectives, management of industrial relation, social responsibilities towards the employees, share holders and public at large. Udaybhai Desai - Safety Officer explained and demonstrated all safety tools used in the factory. Dioakbhai Patel - Labour Officer explained H.R Policy, Compensation, Features of all acts applicable to them. At the end, Students had a meeting with the M.D. Mr. Pankajbhai Patel and other members in the board room of the Sugar Factory. This visit imparted knowledge & shared best HR practices followed at Bardoli Sugar Factory.

    SRIMCA MCA students performed outstandingly in GTU examination. SRIMCA's Total 111 students appeared in MCA 4th Semester GTU June 2012 Examination. The passing percentage of overall examination of GTU is 31.73% whereas SRIMCA has achieved 54.46% and secured 5th position among all colleges in the state.

    To rejoice in happiness and indulge in celebration, saluting the ones who made it possible. Singing in their admiration, who made India stand high & mighty, by considering them our inspiration, Faculty of Computer Science & Technology celebrated the 66th Independence Day on 14th of August, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. onwards with lots of fun and zeal by organizing the competitive events based explicitly on the theme of Independence day, for students of BCA, Five Years Integrated M.Sc. I.T., MCA and M.Sc. C.A.

    All the competitive events were handled smoothly by the faculty members involved in Cultural Committee namely, Ms. Preeti Bhatt, Ms. Monika Naik, Mr. Pinkesh Patel, Mr. Vikas Patel, Ms. Khushbu Das and leaded by Mr. Ketan Naik.

  • "Orientation Programme-2012" organized by Department of Management, Date: 13th to 14th August 2012 more

    The Orientation Programme was organized with the objective to assist the new students of MBA in making a successful academic, intellectual and social transitioning in to the SRIMCA environment. The facets of the orientation included knowing about the Campus, Institute, Senior and Alumni Students, rules and regulations, best practices and learning pedagogy. They were also made familiar to amenities like the Canteen, Hostels, Common Room, Computer Laboratory, Class Rooms and Language Lab.

    Day 1 - Monday 13th August 2012

    The formal Function

    The day started with the prayer "Bahu punya kera punj thi" The distinguished guest was Dr. Jatin Desai, Directior of Engineering College, UTU, and Dr. Krishnamurthy Sir, Director of Bio-technology, UTU. After the formal introduction of guests and welcome dance, Dr. Jitesh Parmar - one of the In-charge of the Orientation Programme enlisted the objectives and schedule of the two days programme. Dr. Jatin Desai & Dr. Krishnamurthy Sir blessed all the students with their kind words. Dr. Shivendra Gupta, Hon. Director and Dr. Prashant Joshi, Professor & Chief coordinator of programme, have also shared their experience and motivated the students for their career. Mr. Krunal Patel - one of the In-charge of the Orientation Programme concluded the formal function by extending vote of thanks.

    Parents Meet

    Faculty of Management organized "Parents Meet" on the first day of its two Days Orientation Programme 2012. The basic objective of this meet is to interact with parents of the new comers, to brief them about the institute and its activities, to solve queries of parents related to their child's education at Shrimad Rajchandra Institute of Management & Computer Application. It was highly interactive session whereby parents raised their questions and faculty team solved their queries.

    Campus Visit

    Campus visit was organized to make new students familiar with the campus environment. During the visit Senior students accompanied the new students and their Parents and made them aware of locations and routes. After the visit, new students had many common questions of where to find what - answered. Be it the library, canteen, class rooms, language lab or place to board a bus.

    Day 2 - Tuesday 14th August 2012

    The second day of orientation was devoted to the activities focused on Interactions and acquaintance with Senior students of MBA.

    Treasure Hunt:

    The game starts with an objective to find out an ultimate treasure with some clues. There 10 members participated in each group. All group members have to work in a team. If group members are found working isolate by any volunteer, team shall be disqualified. There are 2 rounds in this game: 1st elimination round, 2nd final round. In 1st round team has to answer 15 MCQ (Each carry equal marks) and then find out the spots (Each spot carry 5 marks) and also fill up the answer at each spot. They need to perform the task that is specified on respective spots. Each team has to ensure the signature of our volunteers after completion of a task. Finally team will have to submit the form to the final spot as per words they have derived from all spots.

    Management Games

    The objective of this management game was to impart practical knowledge and enhance the real life learning among management students and also put light on the management concepts like time management, group coordination, planning, organizing, leadership and motivation. All the students enthusiastically participated in these games.

    Interactive session for juniors with seniors were arranged where in all first year students interacted with senior students playing various games with their senior students. They introduced themselves to crowd at large by performing various activities. There was fun, mischief, performances and above all enjoyment for the whole evening.

    Besides this, we have also organized alumni meet. The purpose of these Alumni - Students Forum Meeting is to share their Professional Experience, Valuable Views and Success Stories to the present and fresher students.

  • Faculty Development Program on "Making Management Education Employable" organized by GTU, Date: 03rd to 04th August 2012 more

    Management faculty members - Mr. Mulchandji Sen, Mr. Krunal Patel, Mr. Manish Pathak & Mr. Sanjay Joshi participated in two days' FDP on "MAKING MANAGEMENT EDUCATION EMPLOYABLE" jointly organized by GTU and CONFEDERATION OF INDIAN INDUSTRIES (CII). About 70 participants including TPOs, faculty members, directors & industry delegates from all over Gujarat participated in this FDP. The first day session was chaired by Dr. Ganesh Natrajan - Chairman, CII WR. Dr. Akshai Aggarwal - Vice Chancelor of GTU delivered key note speech in which he oriented about various GTU activities and future planning. The various sessions includes - How to make management education employable, TCS perspective on industry engagement in management education and Industry intervention in enhancing quality of management institutions. Panel discussion on, "Industry - Academia interface" was scheduled during second half of the session. Mr. Mangesh Wagle from Dale Carnegie Training initiated second day's session on Powering teaching competencies & Ms. Rashmi Bhargava, Director - University Initiatives SHRM took second session on 5 P's of Academic Excellence. All these sessions imparted knowledge and techniques to enhance skills to make management education employable. This FDP will certainly help our faculty members to teach and impart knowledge so that it provides more employability to students and help them in enhancing career opportunities.

    Mr. Mulchandji Sen (Training and Placement Officer (TPO) - Department of Management) under the guidance of Dr. Shivendra Gupta (Director, Training & Placement Cell of Campus, Uka Tarsadia University) participated in one day workshop for TPOs. The workshop was jointly organized by GTU and Babariya Institute of Technology, Varnama. 50 TPOs from different institutes of Gujarat state actively participated and shared their views & experience to overcome the challenges faced by TPO and to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of T & P cell. The various training sessions covered by various exerts included responsibilities and duties of TPOs, Training need for TPOs, Tools for TPOs, Placement Cell, Integration of placement activities, Group activity for various placement related aspects, presentation by group members , use of technological aids for enhancing results etc. Mr. Mulchandji Sen represented his group on "Training and Placement Policy" in the group activity phase. This workshop really served its purpose to impart knowledge and develop skill in TPOs to achieve the objectives of T & P cell.

  • An Expert Talk on "Sensor Network to Wild Life & Brain-Computer Interface to Help Persons with Severe Disability" organized by SRIMCA for TYMCA students, Date: 21st July 2012 more

    Prof. Prabhat Ranjan from Dhirubhai Ambani Institute for Information & Communication Technology, Gandhinagar (DA-IICT) deliver an expert talk on current trends and technology usage with its application. He started talk with his own experiment on wild life monitoring with the usage of sensor network, his major projects using its application. Then he focused on his recent project development of helping disabled persons in various ways. During last few months he visited many different locations to meet such needy people and help them out in different technological solutions. He says that counts the ability of person not disability and provides solution.

    Faculty members and all students of final year MCA and M.Sc. (Computer Application) participated in this talk. They will be benefited and motivated to think in different way of doing projects that helps the society by providing technology.

  • A One Day Seminar on "Open Source Era-2012" organized by SRIMCA, Date: 21st July 2012 more

    Open Source movement is becoming a key driver of the software industry, with key industry players continuing to invest more heavily in open source projects. Open source projects provide unique opportunities for software engineers to gain experience solving real-world problems. The seminar was organized for the students of final year BCA. There were more than 240 students of 3 BCA colleges participated in this seminar.

    The first session was elicited by Dr Prabhat Ranjan, who is a Ph.D from University of California. He enlightened the participants, with his experience sharing with Dr Richard Stallman the founder of Free Software Foundation, and Linus Torvald the pioneer to introduce Linux worldwide. He talked on history of open source and, GCC, Emacs, FLOSS as well as brought about the comparison between Windows and Linux. He further shared his views to bridge the digital gap in the field of education. He also talked about the importance of Internet in the history of Open Source Development. He revealed the list of few Open Source software. He let knew the students regarding his use of Open Source Platform in his day to day life by disclosing the fact that the presentation he made was in Open Office and the operating system he used was Linux.

    Dr Prabhat Ranjan then ignited the students by his noble objectives to curb the difficulties of physically and mentally disabled people. He also shared his real life research on Human Computer Interface to carry out day to day activities with varying technologies he invented by showing videos and photos. He also shared is experience about how his invention could help the Animator of the Movie Ra-One who meet with an accident. He also made aware the students regarding his GPS project on wild life movement carried out by his students.

    Ms. Jaishree Tailor, Asst. Prof. SRIMCA, began her session by interacting with the participants where she introduced well known logos of Open Source Software. She emphasized the difference between Free, Open and Proprietary widely used in the software industry. She talked about Open Source, Free and Proprietary software. She traced out the features and benefits of open source software. She further extended her talk on open source organizations like Free Software Foundation and its objectives, Source Forge, Fresh Meat and Free code. She also made the students aware about the varying business models accepted by well known companies like GB Direct, IBM, Google, MySQL. Towards the end she brought about fascinating examples of IIT Bombay & Chennai, CDAC Hyderabad, NIC, NRCFOSS the pioneers to promote Open Source in Government of India and Education sector. Students were responded to her questions in an interactive manner and posed questions with reference to open source.

    Ms Pooja Sharma, Asst. Prof. SRIMCA, spoke on the varying open source and proprietary software with facts and figures. She also brought about the list of open source software used by Uka Tarsadia University like Apache server, Linux operating system, MySQL as database, PHP, Mozilla Firefox, GIMP, RAD, RFT, GRASS, OpenOffice, KDE, GNOME etc.

    Ms Neelam Shah, Asst. Prof. SRIMCA, explained every step of installation of KUBUNTU and KDE as desktop environment. She introduced to the students the GUI look of Linux, and customizing desktop appearance with adding many panels and working with more than 4 desktops. Mr. Ravi Pagdhal, Student of SYMCA, assist Ms Neelam to successfully complete the session. Towards the end of the session was the Questioning round where students actively posed questions on Linux and its installations.

It is becoming a key driver of the software industry, with key industry players continuing to invest more heavily in open source projects. Open source projects provide unique opportunities for software engineers to gain experience solving real-world problems. The one day seminar on "OPEN SOURCE ERA-2012" was organized to discuss the Introduction to Open Source, Management of Open Source Project, Open Source Movement, latest Open Source Technologies and Tools being adopted in the Industry, Government and Academia. Faculties of SRIMCA, Ms. Jaishree Tailor, Ms. Puja Sharma and Ms. Neelam Shah took a session on above topics. More than 130 Students of B. V. Patel Institute of Business Management, Computer Information Technology, Bardoli actively participated.

We have secured 1st Position in Surat zone with 79.09% passing percent in MBA Semester-IV among more than 11 reputed management institutes of Surat zone affiliated to GTU. The Institute got 6th position out of 107 institutes across Gujarat. It is worthwhile to note that more than 92 percent students of SRIMCA got 7 or more than 7 SPI.

  • SRIMCA rocked in GTU MCA 6th semester Examinations, Date: 07th July 2012 more

    SRIMCA students performed outstandingly in GTU examination. Total 1757 students appeared in MCA 6th Semester GTU June 2012 Examination which included 46 students of SRIMCA. The passing percentage of overall examination is 96.41% where SRIMCA has achieved 97.87% and secured 9th position in SPI wise in the state.

  • Placement of SRIMCA Students in LA NET Team Software Solutions, Mumbai, Date: 30th June 2012 more

    SRIMCA had arranged placement for PG course last year students. LA NET Team Software Solutions, Mumbai came for placement. The interviewing team included Director, Mr. Ajeet Singh and Co-Director, Ms. Latika Singh and other 7 members of that company. Total 55 students appeared in it. After theoritical test and practical problem solution round, 21 students were selected for one to one interview round.

  • SRIMCA rocked on the ground of the TGMC more

    The great mind challenge (TGMC) is organized by IBM every year. Under TGMC, projects are invited across the country.

    SRIMCA-UTU is proud to announce that out of around 38000 teams (1,50,000 students) all over the India, 473 teams were selected for face to face round. Amongst them 17 teams from Gujarat got selected for face to face round, while 15 teams of SRIMCA won the ground of TGMC and honored Gujarat by outstanding and rocking performance .
